Regional and Local Sales Associate

Zebra Environmental & Industrial Service, Inc (Zebra) provides industrial and remedial services to several, private sector industries in the eastern and midwestern US including manufacturing, engineering, chemical, transportation, retail and distributed energy. Zebra has an immediate full time opening for an experienced Sales Associate on a regional/national basis. Zebra serves an impressive client base which the sales associate will help support in addition to new clientele.

The sales associate reports to the General Manager and manages select elements of get-work activity and major account maintenance activities. Must work closely with the Director of Operations, and others to manage the quality and commercial elements of Zebra’s service delivery.

Minimum Responsibilities

  • Must have the ability to work closely with colleagues to develop sales plans and lead all strategic elements associated with the effort.
  • Regularly meet and interact with client base to further the execution of the sales plan and develop opportunities consistent with Zebra’s target service lines.
  • Maintain and understand knowledge of all aspects of Zebra’s services to support the sales cycle in concert with operations including minor estimating and proposal writing tasks.
  • Attend site & bid meetings, able to clearly relay the context of the project/ work scope to the project management team.
  • Maintain all required sales, pipeline and account management data to support strategic, budgeting and other analytic operations.
  • Maintain and follow up on projects, prospects in process and completed.
  • Direct experience with performing or directly supporting all elements of the sales cycle for select accounts including opportunity identification, face to face client interaction, proposal and estimating development and closing efforts following consistent with Zebra’s strategic plan.
  • Reach out to customer leads through cold calling
  • Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule
  • Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years sales experience in the industry
  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to interface easily with diverse groups of people
  • Must be a creative problem solver, resourceful, have strong communication skills and a flexible thinker with attention to detail

Driver/Equipment Operator

Zebra Environmental & Industrial Services Inc. Zebra works for an impressive client base and is looking to expand in several areas of the environmental and industrial sectors.

The Driver/ Operator (Driver) reports to the Director of Operations and plays a critical role in daily, service line delivery. The Driver is usually assigned a position on one of Zebra’s field teams and works within that team to deliver environmental and industrial service engagements in a safe and productive way.  The Driver works very closely with the Director of Operations and other staff members to execute defined and emergency service deliveries.

Minimum Responsibilities

  • Safely and professionally operate company owned equipment in complete accordance with all local, state and federal regulations.
  • Support and play an active role in the Company’s Health and Safety management system including hazard communication, tracking, near miss documentation, audits and training.
  • Provide other leadership skills on some site depending on skill sets.

Qualifications

  • CDL A and/or B license. Tanker endorsements preferred.
  • Must have mid-level knowledge of most (51%) of Zebra’s current service offerings with respect to equipment operation, means and methods, compliance, Health and Safety etc.
  • Must show demonstrated success in being reliable and maintaining safe operations

Health and Safety Manager

Zebra Environmental and Industrial Services, Inc (Zebra) provides industrial and remedial services to several, private and public sector industries in the eastern and midwestern US including manufacturing, engineering, chemical, transportation, retail, and distributed energy.  Zebra has an immediate opening for an experienced Health and Safety Manager based in our High Point, NC office. Zebra services an impressive client base in the southeast and is experiencing rapid growth. The Health and Safety Manager will support Zebra’s field staff in all phases of service delivery.

The Health and Safety Manager is responsible for administering and leading all elements of the Company’s Health and Safety Program and focuses nearly all her/his efforts on the development and maintenance of safe work practices, hazard communication, and the improvement of the company’s health and safety metrics by performing the following duties.

Minimum Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the operations department on the safe selection of means and methods for industrial and remediation disciplines.
  • Evaluates and plans safe work practices in close concert with operational, leadership, and administrative team members.
  • Provides routine and specific health and safety training to staff members with specific emphasis on commonly used equipment and methods.
  • Maintains all training records for the company including HAZWOPER, OSHA, Railroad, TWIC, and site-specific certifications.
  • Manages the near miss and incident management processes proactively, which includes employee advocating, medical management, injury management, and return to work practices, investigation, corrective actions, and reporting.
  • Consults regularly with other departments, professionals, vendors, and subject matter experts regarding best management practices.
  • Visits job sites regularly to perform audits, assessments, and overall H&S support.
  • Performs routine analysis of H&S programs and metrics and develops specific injury prevention plans to address trends and risk in real time.
  • Drives and manages the communication and incentive portions of the health and safety programs.
  • Writes and/or reviews job hazard analysis for each service line of the company.
  • Manages and maintains the company’s 3rd party administrator approval process including Avetta and ISNETWorld.
  • Provides SME support to the proposal and estimating process.
  • Participates in the annual budgeting process by reporting on the needs of the H&S department.

Qualifications

  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Training
  • Operational experience with pneumatic and hydro-blasting equipment training, powered industrial trucks, aerial lift platform, confined space entry/rescue
  • First Aid/CPR
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is preferred
  • Excellent, written, oral and communication and/or presentation skills are required
  • Must be able to interpret complex regulations, MSDS, and other guidance documents and advise staff on requirements from H&S perspective
  • Must be programmatic and able to function well in a team setting and, at times, under critical schedules
  • Must be able to communicate well and lead at all levels of the organization from field tech to chief executive officer

Human Resources Manager

Zebra Environmental and Industrial Services, Inc (Zebra) provides industrial and remedial services to several private and public sector industries in the eastern and midwestern US including manufacturing, engineering, chemical, transportation, retail and distributed energy. Zebra has an immediate opening for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager based in our High Point, NC office. Zebra services an impressive client base in the southeast, and is adding to our team to support growth.

The HR Manager is primarily responsible for developing Zebra’s team; the corporation’s most important asset, by performing Human Resource related functions on a professional level and in close concert with the executive management team. The HR Manager also works closely with various department managers and to drive integrity, collaboration, team work and an insistence on quality into the culture of the company. This position executes responsibilities in several functional areas including benefits administration, payroll, recruiting, employee relations, development and training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation and employment law compliance.

Minimum Responsibilities

  • Lead all talent recruiting efforts for several levels of the company by developing strategies, job descriptions, advertising of open positions, interviewing, onboarding and performing orientation. The HR Manager routinely refines a recruiting program that regularly achieves target results as measured by increased employee retention and rates of internal promotion.
  • Partner with the management team to develop, enhance and execute career development programs for several employee positions and provide executive level coaching and mentoring to select employees.
  • Promote a progressive work environment where employees are consistently challenged, evaluated and afforded avenues of opportunity by developing, executing and monitoring employee level career advancement programs
  • Lead the company’s risk management operation and participate fully in conflict resolution, employee training and skills development.
  • Lead the payroll function of the company and regularly interact with the company’s payroll and benefits provider as well as employees and insurance professionals.
  • Manage Zebra’s Workers Compensation program and any resulting claims including direct interaction with Zebra’s insurance professionals and managerial team with respect to incident management and return to work efforts. The HR Manager services as a liaison between insurance company / benefits provider and Zebra.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of Zebra’s onboarding process and cross function initial employee training
  • Participates in insurance and benefit renewal activities as an inward facing resource for the Zebra’s staff.
  • Develop and maintain HR related KPIs and other metrics and produce regularly as part of routine reporting.
  • Lead Zebra’s onboarding process and develop a complete, high quality initial training experience and guide employees during the transitionary periods of their employment.
  • Support the ongoing cultural development of Zebra’s employees and provide assistance to managers in employee objective setting and performance appraisals.
  • Assist with managing unemployment claims.  Communicates with managers to gather information to build a case for unemployment protests.
  • E-Verify follow up with managers.  Assure prompt action for new hires, rehires, and re-verifications.
  • Work closely with executive staff to develop and maintain compensation guidelines, standards and measurements.
  • Provide support to employees in various HR related topics such as leaves, compensation, and resolution of issues and problems.
  • Maintain employee files and records.
  • Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, PTO polices, accruals, payments and communicating benefits information to employees.
  • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
  • Various other HR projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must have over 8 years of direct experience with implementing HR programs including most of the essential duties above. Experience in field service, environmental or industrial contracting companies is preferred.
  • Must have an expert level understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
  • Must have a solid understanding of state and local employment/labor laws
  • This position requires outstanding personal skills, as well as excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Must enjoy working as part of a team and leading committees toward the achievement of goals typical of a growing company. Must be entrepreneurial in spirit and be willing to strategize and develop solutions to problems as opposed to adjusting current systems.
  • Must show demonstrated, recent success in managing change elements are similar companies including employee engagement, process mapping, conflict resolution, team building, measurement and accountability.
  • Must have mid-level technical knowledge of 75% of Zebra’s current service offerings with respect to staffing, payroll, benefits, etc.
  • Must be able to motivate teams and work well within group settings.
  • Must be able to travel to office sites on a regional basis for up to 1 week at a time.
  • Must be a creative problem solver/critical thinker, have strong communication skills, the ability to collaborate with others, be resourceful, and pay attention to detail.
