ZEBRA: YESTERDAY AND TODAY
Founded by spouses Amy and David Tedder in 2005, Zebra’s roots actually date back to 1985 when the Tedders launched their first company to fill a troubling and persistent void in their region’s environmental services industry.
Over the succeeding years, the Tedders mastered key facets of the industry, including remediation, industrial, waste management and emergency response.
With the launch of Zebra, the Tedders set out to assemble the most modern vehicle fleet, the tools and technology to go with it, and most important, a highly esteemed team of experts focused on safety, efficiency, and professionalism.
The Tedders also built, from the ground-up, a state-of-the-art facility capable of blending fuels, separating water and fuel, stabilizing and solidifying non-hazardous sludges and solid wastes for direct bulk transport and disposal. Zebra is able to accept and process non-hazardous/regulated materials contained within assorted packaging. It also can accept dump trucks/trailers, vacuum trucks/tankers, high volume wet/dry vacuum trucks, roll-offs, drums, totes and cubic yard boxes.
Zebra’s most valuable asset is the quality and experience of its personnel averaging 15 years experience. All of Zebra’s personnel are trained to meet or exceed Federal OSHA Guidelines for work in Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response.
Across the Southeastern U.S. today, Zebra is regarded by its long-time customers as more of a trusted business partner than just another vendor. Over the previous 14 years, the company’s service lines, operating footprint, and customer base have all expanded rapidly. Much of that success is due to the company’s steadfast commitment to safety, quality, and reliability as well as the deep-rooted experience and expertise of its team, many of whom have been with the company almost from the start.
In 2018, Zebra received an equity investment from Terra Nova Solutions Inc. to support execution of the company’s long-term strategic plan.
Still vested and intimately involved in the day-to-day operations of the company, David Tedder’s current focus is quality control and galvanizing the impeccable legacy of Zebra, now a Terra Nova company.
